Ophthalmic Technician provides technical services to assigned ophthalmic patients and assists ophthalmologists or optometrists in the examination and treatment of eye disorders. Takes patient history, conducts visual acuity screenings, and performs various technical procedures, including refractometry, tonometry, lensometry, and keratometry. Being an Ophthalmic Technician prepares patients for exams and procedures. Operates, maintains, and sanitizes ophthalmic equipment and instruments. Additionally, Ophthalmic Technician may assist physicians in performing minor surgical and laser procedures. May dispense contact lenses. Typically requires an associate degree. May require Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). May require Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT). Typically reports to a manager. Our Work Schedule: The Greensboro Procter & Gamble Plant operates 7-days per week on 12-hour shifts. Most employees work a 2-2-3 work schedule. Day shift is 7:00 am - 7:30 pm and night shift is 7:00 pm - 7:30 am.
Changes in business volume and production requirements can cause the plant to occasionally change the length of work shifts or the shift schedule.
