Responsible for all facets of the operation including booking processes, staff scheduling, professional massage services, body treatments, associated programs such as yoga and other related wellness services for Schweitzer guests. REQUIREMENTS: Must be available weekends and holidays ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Will contribute to the overall vision, direction and implementation of Cambium Spa and its programs by performing the following: Possess the ability to work without direct supervision. Oversee the operation of Cambium Spa as an amenity of Schweitzer. Provide leadership and daily oversight of the programs, services and staff members in the wellness center. Work with the Family Programs Director to develop and implement associated wellness programs. Responsible for hiring staff for all functions of Cambium and oversee training processes Operate a sales system and train/ supervise staff on such. Operate Cambium equipment and train/ supervise staff on such. Assist in the development and maintaining of the Cambium budget. Be financially accountable for all functions of Cambium including adjusting labor according to business levels to match projected revenues In all areas of operation, conduct business with the highest levels of guest service and safety. Be responsible for overall service experience, inspire a service culture to deliver quality experiences. Communicate, implement and enforce clear and consistent guidelines for all aspects of service. Perform some services at time of low occupancy and low staffing levels. Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the facility’s policies and procedures. Organize and maintain information systems, sales systems and booking protocols. Train staff to protocols OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Should have extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain facilities and activities. Responsibilities are listed as guidelines and the position is not necessarily limited to these items. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Responsible for up to 8 hours of combined standing/ desk activity. Will lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds rarely. Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, balance, feel and reach above shoulder level occasionally to frequently. Hearing, speech, sight, walking, use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, are required. 98% inside with some outdoor walking required, exposed to all moisture levels and temperature changes. Hazards are ice and snow. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SKILLS: Effective leadership skills and strong work ethic, Ability to inspire, prioritize and delegate. Knowledge of numerous massage modalities and possess a general understanding of various body treatments. Excellent communication skills both oral and written; computer skills with Microsoft Office required; excellent guest service skills; detailed, accurate, and organized. Winter Sports enthusiast and knowledge of mountain environment preferred. ATTRIBUTES: Professional manner, positive attitude, patient, confident, has initiative, and enjoys inside work. EDUCATION: Four year degree or equivalent experience preferred, preferred certification from recognized massage school EXPERIENCE: Management experience preferred, massage experience or equivalent preferred, knowledge of professional spa services and treatments, experience in state and federal health and safety compliance, customer service experience preferred. Resort experience preferred. LICENSE: CPR and first aid training preferred. Position is subject to background check and motor vehicle records check. Driver’s license insurable by Schweitzer Mountain LLC carrier UNIFORM: Will provide own pants to meet dress standards, shirt and nametag provided. APPEARANCE STANDARDS: Schweitzer Mountain upholds the following appearance standards: Jewelry must be kept to a minimum. Jewelry in visible piercings are limited to: In the facial area (eyebrow or side nostril) which is either a stud or a ring no larger than ½ inch. No rings in noses, please—studs are acceptable. Only studs or rings smaller than ½ inch can be used on the upper ear. Large hoops or gauges on the lower ear may present a safety issue. If you have piercings in your mouth/lips/cheeks etc. you will be asked to use a clear nylon stud or other low-visibility item while you are on-duty. Tattoos: At no time can tattoos that may offend guests or co-workers be visible. Cosmetics and perfume/cologne should be kept to a minimum Hair should be worn so as not to cover eyes or facial features. Facial hair must be kept clean. Please do not start a new beard during the season. Good personal hygiene should be practiced. MACHINES, PROGRAMS AND TOOLS OPERATED: Computer; Microsoft Windows and Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point; Spa Soft sales system, passenger automobile/SUV (rarely), desk and mobile telephones (smart phone) JUDGEMENT/MENTAL COMPLEXITY: High BENEFITS: see Employee Handbook (Insurance, 401K, PTO, sick leave, season pass, other perks) REVIEW SCHEDULE: This position and the individual filling it will be evaluated six (6) months after initial hire and annually thereafter.
