Operations Supervisor supervises the daily activities of an operational unit. Monitors and assists staff to maintain workflow and achieve targeted operational and financial results. Being an Operations Supervisor implements practices to ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures. Resolves routine operational issues and escalates complex issues as needed. Additionally, Operations Supervisor prepares performance and progress reports for management to monitor and improve inefficiencies. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Operations Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Operations Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Job Responsibilities
- Determine staffing requirements and facilitating the hiring process; coordinating employee scheduling, truck assignments, and dispatch of move crew
- Coordinate and direct fleet maintenance and equipment inventory
- Lead mover/driver training; responsible for team development and motivation and corrective action programs
- Promote safety and uphold safety procedures and policies; ensure compliance with all Department Of Transportation regulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration guidelines
- Serve as the “on-call” contact outside of regular business hours
- Conduct safety spot checks during moves to ensure safety and customer satisfaction; oversee damage resolution Develop and implement an employee recognition program
- All other duties as assigned by the General Manager
Job Requirements
- Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
- High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred
- Driver’s license with a good driving record
- Willing to obtain a DOT Physical
- Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to multi-task
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Time management skills
- Effective communication skills
- Job requires a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
- Job requires persistence in the face of obstacles.

- Physical stamina to assist with lifting/carrying 100 lbs. or more
- Proficient with the following Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and random drug screens
Work is generally performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards; however, occasional lifting up to 100 pounds may be necessary.
