Operations Supervisor supervises the daily activities of an operational unit. Monitors and assists staff to maintain workflow and achieve targeted operational and financial results. Being an Operations Supervisor implements practices to ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures. Resolves routine operational issues and escalates complex issues as needed. Additionally, Operations Supervisor prepares performance and progress reports for management to monitor and improve inefficiencies. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Operations Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Operations Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Summary
    A growing ornamental plant nursery near Wilmington NC is looking for a reliable person who demonstrates initiative and attention to detail with minimal supervision. This person will be responsible for supervising all processes that ensure efficient and quality products for our customers. This person will need an aptitude for accurate shipping accounting, process improvements, project implementation, and people management.


    Qualification Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     Minimum Qualifications
    • Highly detail-oriented
    • Experience managing people is highly desired.
    • Preferred experience in process management, project implementation
    • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
    • Strong computer skills
    • Strong mathematical skills
    • Must be organized and able to multi-task effectively.
    • Must be willing to work extra hours if needed.
    • Must wear ankle-high work boots when at the nursery.
    • Successfully pass drug screening
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license

    • Communication
      • Communicate with Logistics Team Leader and Load Dock Supervisor about order and delivery changes.
      • Communicate with their team.
        • Daily shipping goals
        • Safety expectations
    • People Management (Pickers, Quality Control, Tagging)
      • L10 weekly meeting
      • Counseling/Safety Violations
      • Incident Reporting
    • Other duties as assigned



    Work Environment
    This position requires you to work outdoors during the workday.


    Travel
    Travel is not generally required for this position.
