POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for successfully completing all facets of the Loan and Pell Grant origination process. Responsible for balancing all G-5 fund accounts monthly, and ensuring all areas of Federal aid processing operations are in compliance with Federal regulations. Also responsible for Training Operations staff. Must have knowledge of the entire financial aid operation and understand how these processes affect the entire operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assesses an individual student's financial need and ascertains the student's eligibility to participate in Federal, state and/or institutional aid programs.
- Originate and Process Federal Direct Loans
- Originate and Process Pell Grants
- Process loan returns
- Process Pell Grant returns
- Balance G5 fund accounts monthly (Direct Loans, Pell Grant)
- Ensure compliance with Federal Regulations for all Federal aid processes
- Train new operations staff
- May be expected to provide counseling to students on the manner of integrating their financial concerns, relative to personal and educational goals
- Requests, collects and reviews required documents from students and parents necessary for verification and compliance in a timely manner.
- Manage subsequent ISIR Process
- Manage the Drop/Add and R2T4 process
- Utilizes and updates a database and processes applications for financial aid received from students.
- Responsible for completeness and accuracy of student financial aid records in accordance with federal, state and institutional regulations/policies.
- Instrumental in resolving unexpected or unforeseen financial issues for students.
- Expected to make recommendations regarding operations, policies and processes to achieve continual improvement and efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of government, donor and/or institutional rules, regulations, and guidelines, and procedures for awarding financial aid. Ability to communicate effectively.
