Summary: Conduct golf equipment tests with players and fit players with golf equipment. Contribute to Amateur Golfer launch condition data set.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct golfer tests and research studies commissioned by the R&D Department. Assist with the identification of amateur golfers for test participation and analysis of launch condition data. Assist with growth of amateur golfer launch condition database(s).
- Conduct scheduled golf equipment fittings including required assembly or modification of golf clubs.
- Support golf ball durability tests as a participant and coordinating qualified amateurs.
- Maintain identified best practices for fitting methods, golf club assembly and monitor use.
- As requested, provide support for Leadership Testing and Tour Promotion.
- Support other Business Units as requested with golfer fitting and/or golfer testing.
Requirements:
- BS/BA required in a technical or communications field preferred. Strong preference for graduates of PGA/PGM programs. A strong golf background coupled with a BS in Psychology would be considered.
- A minimum of 3 year’s experience testing and fitting golfers, with a strong bias toward golf ball. Must have a demonstrated ability to utilize current generation ball and flight measurement tools. Employment history in a field placing a high demand on interpersonal skills and communication (both verbal and written) is preferred. Special consideration for applicants with a history of competitive golf (including USGA, college, Junior Golf, etc) and/or applicable golf industry experience. Prefer an employment history must include experience teaching/training or golf equipment fitting. Greatest preference for a PGA Teaching Professional.
- Must pass Health Services screening, including accurate color vision. Must not be adversely affected by chemicals in a laboratory, golf ball manufacturing or golf course environment. Must be capable of listing 40 pounds and able to travel locally daily. Must be able to travel overnight, frequently and occasionally on short notice. Schedules and test requirements WILL change unexpectedly, and flexibility is required. THIS JOB WILL BE CONDUCTED OUTDOORS, generally on a golf course. There will be exposure to the sun, wind, rain, and less than ideal temperatures.
- Demonstrated ability as a golf equipment fitter. PGA Professional preferred. Must have working knowledge of golf balls and how their design elements influence performance. Must have working knowledge of golf clubs and how their design elements influence performance. Must have demonstrated ability to assemble and modify golf clubs.
