    As a Intelligence Research Specialist, GS-0132-14, your typical work assignments may include:

    • Provide senior substantive content review for I&A finished intelligence analysis, ensuring that finished intelligence products are produced in accordance with established I&A priorities and IC tradecraft standards.
    • Work closely with analysts and analytic reviewers across DHS I&A to provide feedback on, and to improve the quality of, analytic production.
    • Ensure through review product compliance with IC directives and I&A quality frameworks, identifies deficiencies, and ensures corrective measures are undertaken.
    • Advances analytic performance through instilling analytic methodology, techniques, and tools on highly complex problem sets and by collaborating with I&A analytic chiefs during conceptualization and review of products.
    • Provide recommendations for continued development of the I&A analytic professional cadre in collaboration with the Analytic Advancement Director and the DHS Intelligence Training Academy.

    Qualifications

    Specialized Experience
    You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess the specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service or private sector equivalent experience.
    For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
    • Serving as a senior specialist or project lead of an Intelligence Community analytic program ensuring an understanding of and compliance with IC directives, detecting deficiencies, and taking corrective measures.
    • Conducting highly complex analysis of all-source intelligence.
    • Experience developing and implementing research and analysis plans for an analytic team.
    • Supporting the implementation and management of an analytic tradecraft program.
    Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
