Being a Operations Clerk performs clerical production activities such as proof, reconciliation, and posting. Prepares basic correspondence, forms and other documents as needed. Additionally, Operations Clerk may help research and resolve basic operational problems. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Operations Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Performs primarily clerical work in support of technical administrative management and/or operational requirements. Make decisions regarding the adequacy fo the content of the transaction, Typical duties include maintaining records; receiving, screening, reviewing and verifying documents; searching for and compiling information and data; providing a central source of information, preparing and/or verifying the validity of documents, etc. Responsible for issue, receipt, and control of cash boxes. Purchases and inventories supplies and resale items from authorized sources through informal, verbal open-market purchase. Contacts requisitioning personnel to clarify unclear information or advise of delivery schedule for price changes, and to obtain approval for purchase of substitute items and to ensure availability of funds. Performs various general clerical duties in support of the operation.

    Qualifying Experience:


    Must possess experience which provides knowledge of cash handling procedures and sales operations such as; receipt, disbursement. examination, deposit and use of cash accountability control methods. Must have experience which provides a basic understanding of the rules, regulations, practices and procedures used in purchasing work; knowledge of common business practices with respect to prices, discounts, and deliveries; and skill in locating sources of supply. Must possess basic computer skills, basic word processing procedures and functions keys to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as form letters, entering data into a predefined spreadsheet or database. Must be familiar with personal computer applications such as Windows, MS Word, Excel, Access and Internet.

    FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
