Additionally, Operations Clerk may help research and resolve basic operational problems. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Operations Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Transportation Operations Dispatch Clerk

  • Position Summary: The Transportation Operations Dispatch Clerk is responsible for assisting the Transportation management in satisfying all the company needs as they relate to the department. This candidate should have very good communication and critical thinking skills that will enable him/her to solve issues as they develop as well as plan to avoid pitfalls. The Transportation Operations Dispatch Clerk is expected to work fluidly in all operating systems used by the company in order to affect a seamless dispatch operation.


    Position duties and responsibilities:

    • Responding to all inquiries via phone, email, or chat
    • Schedule assign and dispatch transportation drivers and vehicles
    • Communicate with drivers and other team/department members to for a smooth operation.
    • Monitor and track drivers' progress to ensure timely deliveries
    • Coordinate between transportation and receiving to ensure seamless backhaul processes
    • Maintain accurate records of all backhauls, including proof of receiving.
    • Communicate with the receiving team and drivers to coordinate pick-up and delivery times.
    • Provide support to the transportation team as needed in all aspects of operations.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
    • Assisting with all the maintenance of our equipment including repairs of company vehicles

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
    • Must be able to bend, lift and twist.
    • Must be able to work in a cold climate.
    • Must always be presentable.
    • Ability to communicate clearly.
    • Must be organized.
    • Must maintain attendance standards as described by Baldor policy.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
    • Good collaboration and teamwork abilities
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to work well under pressure.
    • Prior experience in transportation or logistics preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer applications preferred.
    • Knowledge of transportation regulations and customs requirements preferred.
    • Ability to learn all aspects of Transportation functions.

    Working conditions:

    • Responsibilities require working some evenings, sometimes with little to no advanced notice. Business needs may necessitate functions / duties not otherwise specified by this list.
