Job Description:
Program Support is in training to become a Machine Programmer. Responsible for teardowns, continued upgrade of descriptions in A-crib, and training in the CadCam software.
Programmer will be responsible for determining the machine manufacturing process for new jobs, including creation of models, implementation of Cam system to program, troubleshooting of program and machine at manufacture, documentation of all processes, tooling and any pertinent information needed for future manufacture. Programmer may be directed to perform other tasks at LV Swiss’ discretion beyond specified requirements. Programmer reports directly to Programming Manager.
Qualifications:
– Can read and understand 2D part drawings
– Understand and interpret basic GD&T symbols (i.e. position, flatness, perpendicularity, and runout, etc…)
– Able to create a 3D solid model of the part from a 2D drawing using the “Solidworks” CAD package
– Able to design and make custom tool drawings for any applicable manufactured part
– Have a working understanding of the CAM software package and can create tool paths in this software and generate the machine code that will make the programmed part
– Can read and understand the Fanuc “G” & “M” codes that comprise the machine code that will make the programmed part
– Can read and interpret the “TB Deco” programming language that is used on the TB Deco Swiss Screw machines
– Basic understanding of different cutting tools that are used to manufacture the machined parts (i.e. endmills, drills, various turning and threading tools, etc…) Using this knowledge, will spec out the initial cutting tools to manufacture the parts
– Can work with and communicate with Setup personnel, Operators, QA personnel, Tooling, etc… in order to solve problems, answer questions, or trouble shoot programs.
– Ability to work with other departments in a professional manor to resolve issues
Education:
Required: High School Graduate, Machinist apprenticeship/programming classes or work experience
Preferred: Training/certificate or experience with Solidworks and SolidCAM Software
Qualifications (Skills & Experience Required):
Required: Has a basic working knowledge of the Microsoft “Excel” and “Word” software packages. Has a basic working knowledge of the Windows Operating System, (i.e., be able to create directories, create and move folders within those directories, remove folders, print documents, etc.). Has a minimum of two, (2) years’ experience in operating or setting up CNC Milling, Turning or Swiss style screw machines or equivalent training.
Preferred: Prior Experience in machine programming
