Operating Room Services Director jobs in Alabama
Operating Room Services Director oversees the daily operations of the surgery department. Responsible for the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies, staffing and training of employees, and budgeting. Being an Operating Room Services Director may oversee pre- and post-operative care of patients. May require a master's degree in a related area. Additionally, Operating Room Services Director typically reports to an executive. The Operating Room Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Operating Room Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Description
Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension. Administer prescribed medications in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient. Observe patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Monitors vital signs during local procedures to detect deviations and notifies physician. Respond to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol. Documents nursing assessment of patients. Rotates among various services such as general, ENT, orthopedics, GYN, plastics, urology, and ophthalmology. Prepares rooms, sterile instruments and supplies, and equipment for surgery. Circulates and/or scrubs during surgical procedures. Maintain adequate supplies for cases and checking for expired items.
Requirements
Operating Room experience is preferred
Hours - M-F, 6:00am - finish time may vary
BLS is required
Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Alabama
