Oncology Services Director plans and directs all aspects of an organization's oncology services policies, standards, and programs. Responsible for strategic clinical relationships with physicians and interns. Being an Oncology Services Director ensures oncology clinical programs are in compliance with all applicable regulations. Researches and studies current medical publications and data on new treatments and practices to ensure high quality clinical service offerings. Additionally, Oncology Services Director advises non-medical management on clinical and patient related matters and policies. Requires a MD. Typically reports to top management. The Oncology Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Oncology Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Service Line Program Director of Oncology to join our Clinic Administration Oncology team.

     

    ** SIGN ON BONUS AND RELOCATION ELIGIBLE FOR NEW HIRES **

     

    Position Summary

    The Service Line Program Director of Oncology is responsible for co leading (with a physician dyad) the oncology specific quality and accreditation for the oncology service line across the St. Luke’s Health System. The System Director will partner with clinical and non-clinical leadership at each St. Luke’s Cancer Institute to implement and oversee our oncology accreditation and quality.

     

    This position is full-time; 1.0 FTE.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership and management for service line including long-term strategic and financial planning, operations, quality/performance improvement, and clinical program development
    • Assess, plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates the patient care system for service line
    • Administers and directs operational activities of assigned program or hospital unit
    • Plans, develops and implements goals and objectives of assigned program or unit in conjunction with appropriate leadership
    • Oversees the efficient operation and cost-effectiveness of programs
    • Maintain strong physician and significant stakeholder relationships and a high level of visibility for service line
    • Responsible for the development, implementation, direction, and coordination of policies and programs consistent with company philosophy and objectives
    • Provides leadership, guidance and continuing education to support staff in the service line population
    • Communicates programs priorities, policies, and procedures as they relate to strategic growth to clinical and system leadership
    • Establish and maintain communication between ancillary departments and physicians, nursing personnel and other health care professions regarding program
    • Plans and conducts meetings to ensure compliance with established practices and keep employees abreast of current standards
    • Completes and maintains records, reports, and documents program and/or unit activities
    • Collaborates with other health care providers and leads community outreach programs
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
    • Experience: Seven (7) years of clinical RN experience in Oncology
    • Licenses/Certifications: Current RN License from the State of Practice
    • Preferred (but not required): MSN and/or clinical leadership experience
