Education : Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or other related field.
Combination of Education and Experience : A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18.

Applicants who meet the 2015 USDA Professional standards for programs with an enrollment of under 2500 students will be preferred by management.
These hiring standards include any of the following :
1.) High school diploma (or GED) and 3 years of relevant food service experience.
2.) Associate's degree or equivalent educational experience with academic major or concentration in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field, and at least 1 year of relevant food service experience.
3.) Bachelor's degree or equivalent educational experience with academic major or concentration in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field, and at least 1 year of relevant food service experience.
Management will also prefer applicants who have experience as a Register Dietitian, one year supervisory experience with USDA Child Nutrition Program and / or 3 years of experience in the National School Lunch, School Breakfast, or Child and Adult Care Food Programs at any position;
In addition to the USDA guidelines above, applicants who possess 8 hours of food safety training obtained within the last 5 years or will be obtaining before employment will be preferred.
