    If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for enforcing Federal Criminal and Civil laws that protect life, liberty and the property of citizens. You will serve as an Administrative Services Assistant providing a variety of administrative and technical assistance. Formal and/or on-the-job training will be provided as needed.

    Typical work assignments will include:

    • Provides technical assistance and processing support to human resources specialists in one or more program area.
    • Provides technical assistance and processing support to budget analysts in one or more program area.
    • Provides technical assistance and processing support in contracting activities.
    • Maintains and extracts data from automated docketing databases and systems. Inputs information into databases and systems and updates records. Prepares a variety of recurring and special reports, compiling data and obtaining required information.
    • Assists in a variety of administrative services activities.
    • Serves as an information receptionist for the office. Receives visitors and refers each visitor to the appropriate person or office as determined by local procedure.
    • Prepares or assists with travel authorization requests, ensuring the proper electronic approvals are attained.
    • Prepares or assists with travel expense vouchers in a timely manner.
    • Reviews voucher submissions to ensure necessary receipts and correct funding information are submitted.
    Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as training and experience progress.

    Qualifications

    GS-06
    To be eligible at the GS-6 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level.

    Specialized Experience
    Experience providing a variety of clerical and administrative functions such as producing written documents utilizing office automation software; obtaining information from files or general reference sources; inputting information into databases or spreadsheets; sorting and retrieving data to produce documents and reports; processing supply requests; purchasing office supplies; and receiving telephone calls and visitors to the office.

    To be eligible at the GS-7 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level.

    Specialized Experience
    Experience providing assistance in the areas of accounting/budgeting transactions; inventory/property management; to include establishing and maintaining files, file systems and procedures and database management; AND performing general administrative support duties for an office.

    To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)

    Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
