Purchasing Agent (Office Automation)

  • Duties

    • Maintain records concerning the monitoring and management of the contracts for customers.
    • Responsible for all rentals and leases of medical and non-medical equipment and other material necessary to support the medical group.
    • Provide appropriate forms to the Resource Management Office to ensure funds are available for all medical logistics flight services government purchase cards.
    • Prepare a variety of monthly reports such as cost analysis reports, contract status reports, status of purchase actions and expenditure of funds.
    • Maintain required records, reports, correspondence, documents, etc. to support procurement actions.

    • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
    • Position requires the skill of a qualified typist (40 wpm).
    • This position is a Mission Essential Position. Incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.
    • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. The selected candidate for this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
    • This is a Defense Acquisition Workforce (AWF) position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Contracting certification within 3 Years of entrance on duty.
    • Practitioner Career Level Certification must be met within 5 years.
    • Advanced Career Level Certification must be met within 4 years.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.     Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the procurement of supplies and services utilizing logistics systems; assisting with the research for supplies and services to ensure proper purchases; utilizing a procurement system to reconcile purchases; submitting purchase information into a logistics supply system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
