Description
We are looking for an aide to help guide patients through exercise programs directed by their therapist. The aide will also help with modalities, basic computer tasks, clinic cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and making patients feel comfortable and welcome in the clinic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Deal directly with patients either by telephone, electronically or face to face
• Assists different rehab disciplines, including physical & occupational therapists, acupuncturists and chiropractors
• Anticipate needs of the clinic (use of towels, hot packs, ice bags, game ready, cleaning needs, help during patient transition periods)
• Respond promptly to therapists’ direction
• Understand proper use and safety of modalities
• Understand exercise techniques as outlined by therapists and be able to instruct patients as appropriate
• Answer questions within their scope of knowledge and direct to the appropriate therapists for additional answers. Relay injury related information to the patient’s therapist.
• Verify and coordinate schedules with therapists
• Maintain appropriate therapy inventory, verify with lead therapist
• Communicates with scheduler and therapy staff in a professional manner for all therapy related information in order to maximize patient care.
• Maintain cleaning schedule of all equipment as outlined by lead therapist
• Assist front desk when appropriate with reminder calls, scheduling patients, finding expiration and initial auth dates. Scanning in discharge paperwork to charts
• Compliant with HIPPA
