Occupational Therapist - Nursing Home plans and conducts individualized occupational therapy programs in a nursing home environment to help patients develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform daily activities. Teaches patients skills/techniques and how to use adaptive equipment for participating in activities. Being an Occupational Therapist - Nursing Home studies, evaluates, and records patients' activities and progress. May require a master's degree. Additionally, Occupational Therapist - Nursing Home typically reports to a manager. Typically requires Occupational Therapist certification. Occupational Therapist - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Job Description
As an occupational therapist, you'll help individuals with the skills needed for life's daily activities. Working in a hospital, home health, nursing facility, rehab center, school or healthcare environment, you'll review medical histories, develop and implement occupational therapy treatment plans, recommend equipment, monitor patient progress and more. You'll play a critical role in helping patients who are ill, injured or disabled regain quality of life.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent experience in relevant setting and specialty
- Degree in relevant field
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- Current state license
