The Director of Medicine oversees the following subspecialties within the department of Medicine:Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Rheumatology. These specialties are located in three locations within greater Burlington area (Main hospital, Tilley and San Remo Drive, South Burlington).
The goal within the organization is to achieve integrated clinical delivery for our patients and referring providers within the context of an academic practice environment. In order to accomplish this goal, we must operate as a multi-specialty group to the fullest extent possible. The Director is responsible for organizing and managing the processes that support the achievement of optimal patient encounters. The Director will work with the Practice Leadership Team and the Health Care Service Physician Leaders to develop and manage efficient and effective patient flow systems, achieve financial and operational targets, and coordinate services across the clinical units.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health or related field required. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's Degree in Health Care Administration or a related area.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in a health care management setting, preferably in an academic physician practice setting.
