    Job Description:

     

    Meridian Capital’s investment banking Managing Directors/Directors are actively involved in generating and executing a variety of M&A transactions.  The candidate will be responsible for establishing a broad network and reputation as a thought leader within a specific industry and the regional business community as a whole. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in Meridian’s continued growth and success with deep industry-specific expertise. This role is responsible for initiating new client relationships and expanding the Meridian Capital franchise. The Managing Director/Director will manage deal pipeline and provide marketing to existing and new potential clients while overseeing preparation and delivery of presentations.  The Managing Director/Director is responsible for all aspects of a transaction life cycle: client sourcing, due diligence, negotiations, valuation analyses, and transaction closings.  Successful candidates are resourceful with a demonstrated ability to secure new business and convert prospective clients.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute an industry or sub-sector coverage strategy
    • Develop and execute a business development, long term coverage and deal origination strategy focused on building an established pipeline
    • Leverage and coordinate industry knowledge and expertise to ensure exceptional service for clients
    • Serve as the head representative in client interaction by offering strategic guidance
    • Oversee day-to-day deal execution on behalf of the client and the firm
    • Communicate regulatory, financial information and complex strategic issues in a clear, concise and relevant manner to assist and guide decision-makers in corporate finance transactions
    • Lead and win pitches through confident delivery and strategic thought leadership
    • Develop, maintain, and manage positive client relationships through travel, regular presentations, and timely communication
    • Participate in the recruitment, development and training of junior resources

     

     

    Qualifications:

    • 8-10 years of relevant industry experience in investment banking
    • Extensive knowledge of corporate finance and private company transaction experience
    • Strong business development skills and client sourcing capabilities
    • Established track record of successfully identifying, sourcing, and closing engagements and transactions with middle market clients.
    • Deep knowledge and transaction experience in at least 1-2 focused industries or sub-sectors
    • Exceptional management and leadership skills with an emphasis on mentoring, developing, and managing deal teams and junior team members
    • Knowledge of the accounting, taxation, regulatory and legal matters involved in the execution of public and private company M&A transactions and equity/debt capital markets transactions
    • Remarkable negotiation skills at the CEO/business owner level
    • Ability to think strategically and outside of the box for creative solutions
    • Expert proficiency in financial statement analysis and financial modelling  
    • Current FINRA Series 63, 79 licenses
    • Degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or a related field from a top university
    • High degree of personal and professional integrity and a clear sense of purpose
