Oversees institution of basic nutrition plans including individualized menu plans and monitors intake and acceptance of meals, snacks, and supplements. Being a Nutrition Director monitors and ensures proper nutrition education is provided. May oversee menu planning or food service operations. Additionally, Nutrition Director requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) from Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Typically reports to top management. The Nutrition Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.   • JOB SUMMARY: Edesia is a 501c3 nonprofit that changes the health of the world’s most malnourished one packet of “miracle” food at a time. Our humanitarian foods travel across the globe and are distributed primarily through UNICEF, the World Food Programme, and USAID. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as the Sustainability Coordinator. This pivotal role involves leading our efforts to expand our Environmental-Social-Governance (ESG) culture, with an emphasis on expanding the environmental programs as Edesia grows and expands. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sustainability project initiation, evaluation, measurement and reporting. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
    • Act as the sustainability point of contact, helping define Edesia’s ESG strategy, reviewing all decisions and reports related to sustainability and building/expansion, for upstream and downstream partners.
    • Produce materiality assessments by capturing all Edesia stakeholder expectations.
    • Evaluate the efforts on construction projects and by all teams to make sure Edesia is making wise decisions with building and expansion efforts.
    • Facilitate internal awareness of ESG with all staff to improve sustainability culture.
    • Collaborate with members of other departments and levels within the organization to help promote sustainability initiatives.
    • Coordinate and facilitate sustainability projects and initiatives in all phases of execution to meet the objectives set forth by the company.
    • Develop and present reports on sustainability project performance levels and challenges to management and external parties.
    • Present proposals for sustainability projects with factors such as cost effectiveness, technical feasibility, and integration with other initiatives.
    • Forge relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders and leverage these relationships towards conducting successful sustainability projects.
    • On-going data collection, reporting and submission of ESG-related reports.
    • Proactive research and understanding of current and emerging ESG trends and their applicability to Edesia.
    • Partner and remain in regular communication with the sustainability lead at the PlumpyField Network level.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a field related to sustainability (or equivalent experience).
    • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in sustainability-related roles involving NGOs, distributors, government ministries, donors and/or other humanitarian and development partners.
    • Experience coordinating and successfully implementing multiple tasks and projects at the same time while being results- and detail-oriented, staying within budget restrictions, and meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to establish and maintain meaningful work relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and other parties who play a role in completing sustainability projects.
    • Research, data management, and data reporting skills to produce in-depth analysis of project performance.
    • Ability to create and manage important documentation to be shared with other stakeholders.
    • Critical thinking skills to solve problems and enact creative thinking to provide solutions.
    • Strong experience with Communications and ability to work with Comms team to present information for external audiences.
    • Strong administrative skills; excellent written and verbal communication ability; strong organizational and follow-up skills; and attention to detail.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Salesforce and other applications.
    WORKING CONDITIONS: General office environment; occasionally visits production area. High utilization of office equipment, phone, computer, etc. Ability to work remotely, as needed or requested.
