Nutrition Director directs and oversees all aspects of an organization's or institution's nutrition guidelines and initiatives. Oversees institution of basic nutrition plans including individualized menu plans and monitors intake and acceptance of meals, snacks, and supplements. Being a Nutrition Director monitors and ensures proper nutrition education is provided. May oversee menu planning or food service operations. Additionally, Nutrition Director requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) from Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Typically reports to top management. The Nutrition Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Nutrition Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. FCC Nutrition Specialist

  • The Family Child Care (FCC) Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Nutrition Program Assistant is responsible for overseeing the administration of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) within TCG's Family Child Care program. This federal program provides reimbursements for nutritious meals and snacks to eligible children and adults enrolled in participating child care centers, family care homes, and adult day care centers.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    CACFP Program Administration:

    • Ensure accurate tracking of educators' required documentation, including licensing documents, meal counts, menus, attendance records, and enrollment forms.
    • Enter new FCC educator license information into the CACFP website and update records as needed.
    • Record essential information on the CACFP website, such as changes of address, adjustments in capacity, expiration dates, new licenses, and serving schedules.
    • Collect and file child medical statements for food allergies/special accommodations, ensuring accurate reporting.
    • Maintain updated medical statements on file and distribute to FCC educators as necessary.
    • Ensure all forms are annually updated and correctly filled out before submission to FCC educators.
    • Review Nutrition Program Monitors' observations and conduct "Review of the Review" assessments, along with any other required reporting.
    • Reconcile child attendance and enrollment with scheduled meal service times on a monthly basis.
    • Address discrepancies between observation reports and information reported by educators in the system on a monthly basis.
    • Conduct menu reviews for findings or disallowances using edit checks.
    • Periodically conduct "Parent Contacts" as required by CACFP policies.
    • Determine reimbursement tiering eligibility for new educators through census information and determination maps. Update determinations annually and send notices to educators.
    • Collect annual signature updates from FCC educators and maintain proper filing.
    • Collaborate with FCC Director to submit the Annual Renewal Contract for the CACFP program.
    • Assist in preparing and conducting 6 hours of required CACFP training in conjunction with the FCC Director.
    • Prepare for audits by maintaining meticulous records and ensuring compliance.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the FCC Director.

    Training:

    • Conduct orientation sessions for new FCC Educators.
    • Assist in conducting the required 6 hours of annual training for FCC Educators.
    • Track the required 6 hours of annual training for FCC Educators

    Qualifications:

    • Ability to work effectively with both adults and children.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to execute administrative tasks efficiently.
    • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
