Nutrition Director jobs in Federal Way, WA
Nutrition Director directs and oversees all aspects of an organization's or institution's nutrition guidelines and initiatives. Oversees institution of basic nutrition plans including individualized menu plans and monitors intake and acceptance of meals, snacks, and supplements. Being a Nutrition Director monitors and ensures proper nutrition education is provided. May oversee menu planning or food service operations. Additionally, Nutrition Director requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) from Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Typically reports to top management. The Nutrition Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Nutrition Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Schedule: Flexible days/hours. Must be completed Monday-Friday between normal business hours
Compensation: $36.00-$41.00/hour DOE
Travel Compensation: $36.00-$41.00/hr (For travel time to and from the facility)
At least 1 year of clinical experience is preferred.
Responsibilities :
- Coordinate nutritional care of residents and patients by completing nutritional assessments
- Experience working with tube feedings
- Provide nutritional counseling and education for residents and family
- Meet DOH/state/federal regulations and company standards
- Perform duties independently without training or direction
Requirements : Candidates must be registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Experience providing general nutrition education (IE weight loss, weight gain)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience with electronic charting systems
- Familiarity with state survey process and compliance to nutrition care regulations
Requirements
- Bachelors degree with major studies in food and nutrition.
- Current state licensure/certification, if required by state.
- Current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
- One (1) year of work experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities or equivalent.
- Experience providing general nutrition education (IE weight loss, weight gain)
