Nutrition Director directs and oversees all aspects of an organization's or institution's nutrition guidelines and initiatives. Oversees institution of basic nutrition plans including individualized menu plans and monitors intake and acceptance of meals, snacks, and supplements. Being a Nutrition Director monitors and ensures proper nutrition education is provided. May oversee menu planning or food service operations. Additionally, Nutrition Director requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) from Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Typically reports to top management. The Nutrition Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Nutrition Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     JOB SUMMARY:
     
    Responsible for administering, directing, and coordinating the Nutrition Service Department and operations. Sustaining the highest quality food service and nutritional care for customers consisting of patients, guests, and staff with primary goal to consistently create an exceptional dining experience. Maintain an acute focus on balancing culinary integrity, hospitality, retail, and financial results, while safeguarding each customer experience with the highest level of personalized service.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Current designation as Certified Dietary Manager required.
    • Current registration and license to practice in the State of Oklahoma as a Dietitian preferred.
    • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
    • Knowledge in computer operations
    • Able to work under stressful conditions.
    • Having and maintaining a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record is a condition of employment.
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Able to work in a latex-burdened environment.
    • Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
    • Able to extensively utilize telephone for communication with customers, vendors, and all hospital departments.
    • Able to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time throughout the work schedule, with some lifting and bending.
    • Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to prepare documents and to read product labels and literature.
    • Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
