Nursing Unit Secretary jobs in Lewes, DE

AristaCare at Whiting is looking for a Unit Secretary to join the team!

The Unit Secretary performs administrative and clerical tasks in support of patients and medical staff within the facility. The Unit Secretary maintains complete medical records on residents that are admitted / discharged in accordance with federal and state guidelines.

• answering incoming calls and admitting patients
• billing patients and validating payment methods as needed
• updating patient information on the computer system
• scheduling appointments or procedures for patients as needed
• provide support to the nurse manager with reports, data, and special assignments
• transcribe physician orders for medications, diets, treatments, etc.
• order office and medical supplies as needed
• run errands as directed / necessary

Requirements and skills:

• Must have 3-months experience in a clerical position, or successfully completed a scretarial science program from an accredited school/college
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have knowledge of medical terminology
• Must have excellent computer literacy skills
• Must have knowledge of medical software
