Nursing Unit Secretary provides secretarial support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit. Maintains and updates patients' records for a given unit. Being a Nursing Unit Secretary performs administrative activities in compliance with all regulations. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Nursing Unit Secretary typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Nursing Unit Secretary works under moderate supervision. Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· A minimum of two years of relevant secretarial experience, preferably in a school setting (preferred).
· Experience with database management programs and Microsoft Office.
· Extensive knowledge of office practices and procedures.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Working knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
· Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to multi-task in a calm and professional demeanor.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Ability to problem solve.
Highly organized and able to comprehend and interpret policies and processes.
· Must submit to a criminal background investigation and provide a recent physical.
Duties:
The person employed for this position is expected to handle many of the routine duties that are associated with the Superintendent’s Office. Tasks may include but are not limited to handling phone calls, clerical duties, completing monthly reports, dealing with requests made in the office, record keeping, working closely with the Superintendent and any other tasks that may be assigned by the Administration or Board of Education.

Work Day:
The District Office Secretary will normally work an eight and one half (8 ½) hour shift, Monday through Friday for a total of 40-hours per week. During the shift, the Secretary will receive two (2)-paid 15-minute breaks and one (1)-unpaid 30-minute lunch break.
