Nursing Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of nursing personnel in patient care units. Participates in planning work of assigned units and coordinates activities with other patient care units and related departments. Being a Nursing Supervisor ensures that patients' needs are met and evaluates unit nursing care and performance. Monitors patient recordkeeping activities for accuracy, completion and compliance with all regulations. Additionally, Nursing Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree of nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires certification as a registered nurse (RN). The Nursing Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. Job Overview:
Provides services within the framework of the Aged and Disabled Waiver Program as outlined by the program requirements. Follow program requirements to maintain standards and governmental regulations/rules and guidelines. Achieves department and company goals through teamwork. Serves as resource and educator concerning issues of care, documentation and reimbursement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Two years of related clinical nursing experience
2. Evidence of ability to supervise and direct ADW Program
3. Current nursing license in the state of West Virginia

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF RN SUPERVISOR
1. Conduct Initial Assessments prior to the Start of Care.
2. Orient Personal Attendants to the Plan of Care and client.
3. Conduct supervisory visits per program requirements.
4. Conduct post-hospital and annual assessments.
5. Conduct ongoing assessment of personal attendant performance.
6. Must be always available by telephone for on-call telephone after normal business hours.
7. Recruiting and employing staff.
8. Training and staff development.
9. Evaluation of Personal Attendants.
10. Documentation and communication with Case Management agencies.
11. Quality assurance monitoring.
12. Conduct a conference with Personal Attendant to determine methods to implement the client’s plan of care and service plan.
13. Test performance, knowledge, and skill of Personal Attendants.
14. Perform yearly evaluations of the Personal Attendants.
15. Coordinate the service of the Personal Attendants with the Case Management agency.
16. Determine the client’s ability to sign Personal Attendants timesheets.
17. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively
18. Review and sign Personal Caregivers timesheets.
19. Other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
