Nursing Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of nursing personnel in patient care units. Participates in planning work of assigned units and coordinates activities with other patient care units and related departments. Being a Nursing Supervisor ensures that patients' needs are met and evaluates unit nursing care and performance. Monitors patient recordkeeping activities for accuracy, completion and compliance with all regulations. Additionally, Nursing Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree of nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires certification as a registered nurse (RN). The Nursing Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Nursing Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     CHI St. Alexis is looking for a Full Time Clinic Supervisor to join the team!

    The Ambulatory Clinical Supervisor assists in managing, supervising and administering the patient/nurse services within the Clinic. The Ambulatory Clinical Supervisor plays a key role in the delivery of patient care. The the Supervisor is responsible for the nursing components of the Clinic and has specific responsibilities that must be completed on a daily basis. The daily completion of responsibilities is central to the continued success in the delivery of patient care and is expected to exercise accuracy and efficiency while providing clinical care and in documenting all patient encounters.

    What You'll Do:

    • Act as a role model through support of the Medical Center’s mission, vision and values by promoting and enhancing expectations.
    • Maintains nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
    • Assures quality of care by establishing clinic and nursing division’s standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; recommending adjustments.
    • Collaborates with leadership to maintain staff by recruiting and selecting nurses while overseeing the orientation process
    • Maintains nursing staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
    • Delegates nursing care based on knowledge of staff qualifications/competency and patient care requirements, while ensuring adequate staffing and training to allow efficient clinic operations.
    • Develops and implements educational programs/opportunities for staff; responds to ever-changing technology while educating and training on new technology.
    • Develops and adjusts daily work schedule to ensure all areas are adequately staffed. Works in all areas of the clinic, filling in for absences assisting the nursing staff as needed.
    • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 1 year experience in the discipline OR 3 years’ experience in the discipline OR Master’s Degree and no experience
    • Licensed to practice registered nursing in the state of ND or compact state. BSN
    • CPR certified within the orientation period and meets re-certification as required.
    • 2 years clinical nursing experience; preferably in a clinic or outpatient ambulatory care environment.

    Pay Range
    $27.44 - $38.76 /hour
