Nursing Services Instructor is responsible for identifying training needs and planning, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of staff development programs within an assigned area of responsibility. Coordinates in-service training, continuing education, orientation, competency reviews, and other related training functions. Being a Nursing Services Instructor ensures compliance with all State and Federal guidelines for in-service education and new employee orientation. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Nursing Services Instructor requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Nursing Services Instructor occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. As a CNA instructor, you're an experienced R.N. with skilled nursing and long-term care experience and a passion for helping others advance their nursing career.:
You will:
- Provide direct instruction to Nursing Assistant (NA) students
- Ensure required regulatory education follows state-specific requirements.
- Ensures NA students can pass state-required testing to become Certified Nursing Assistants.
- Provide CPR w/BLS training to N.A. students.
- Create and provide class schedules.
- Assist as a floor nurse in the skilled nursing community when not conducting a class.
- Possess a CPR/BLS certification and a valid R.N. license in the state of instruction.
- Experience teaching is preferred, but the right attitude and drive override this expectation.
- Have one year of nursing experience in a licensed nursing facility.
- Excellent written and oral communication and motivational skills.
- Problem-solve in both resident care and employee situations.
