Nursing Services Instructor is responsible for identifying training needs and planning, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of staff development programs within an assigned area of responsibility. Coordinates in-service training, continuing education, orientation, competency reviews, and other related training functions. Being a Nursing Services Instructor ensures compliance with all State and Federal guidelines for in-service education and new employee orientation. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Nursing Services Instructor requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Nursing Services Instructor occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Photo ID: You need a government-issued photo ID. A driver's license or state ID works great.
State License Check: We'll verify your state license online.
Prove Your Competence: You may need to pass a competency exam with a minimum score of 80% unless your facility requires higher.
Physical Well-being: Your physical exam should be within a year of your start date. Fit mask tests are done during orientation, and some departments may need TDAP vaccines.
Health Document Checklist: You'll need negative TB tests or chest X-rays. Check with your facility about TSPOT acceptability.
Immunization History: Rubeola (measles), mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella. We'll also need proof of your history.
Flu Season Precautions: During flu season, a flu vaccination is mandatory, and declination isn't acceptable.
Background Check: We perform a standard background check that's updated annually. This includes a 7-year search that covers SS Trace, county searches for the last 7 years, nationwide checks, and sex offender searches.
Additional Annual Checks: You must do annual checks for EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG.
Professional References: We need 2 professional references for Travel, Allied, and Per Diem Acute Care positions, and 1 for Per Diem Non-Acute Care. Non-clinical positions do not require references.
Facility-Specific Documents: The facility will provide FDI directly to you, and you'll start on a Tuesday. A few modules must be completed before your start.
