Nursing Home Administrator oversees all activities of a nursing home in accordance with established policies and federal and state guidelines. Develops strategic plans for profitability and is accountable for all operations and programs. Being a Nursing Home Administrator administers, directs and coordinates the business. Recommends and leads changes to improve the nursing home. Additionally, Nursing Home Administrator may require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. May require a state administrator license. The Nursing Home Administrator manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Duties:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursing home facility
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and laws
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high-quality care for residents
- Manage and supervise staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Coordinate with medical professionals to provide appropriate healthcare services to residents
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to resident care and facility operations
- Collaborate with social workers to address the social and emotional needs of residents
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field - Nursing Home Administrator License in good standing with the State of Tennessee Required
- Three or more years of previous experience in a leadership role in a nursing home or long-term care facility is preferred
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing nursing home operations
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
