Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provides on-going mandatory staff education, skills check lists and pertinent documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Daily rounds with focus on staff skills, infection control and educational opportunities
Assist with new staff interviews, hiring and orientation
Monitor, track and analyze infection trends in facility and implement appropriate interventions
Evaluate infections related to Beers Criteria and Antibiotic Stewardship; provide education as needed.
Lead nursing team in the absence of the Director of Nursing
Actively participate in QAPI program
Additional Duties:
Assess patients by physical examination, recommend pertinent diagnostic testing to determine health status
Assist with new admissions, transfers, discharges and providing direct resident care as needed
Document assessments and care in compliance with standards of care
Educate patients and their families on health-related issues
Administer medications and treatments when needed
Participate in the care planning process during interdisciplinary review
Perform other duties as assigned
