Basic Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Home Care Aides. As a Home Care Aide, you will provide essential support and assistance to elderly or disabled individuals in their homes. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Duties:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Administer medication reminders and assist with medication management
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including meal preparation, laundry, and tidying up
- Accompany clients to medical appointments and assist with transportation needs
- Provide assistance with mobility and transfers
- Utilize behavior management techniques when necessary
- Follow care plans and communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare team members
Requirements:
- Previous experience in hospice care, nursing homes, or senior care is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and practices
- Ability to provide direct support and assistance to individuals with varying needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Compassionate nature and a genuine desire to help others
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors in a calm and professional manner
- Basic understanding of vital signs monitoring
- High school diploma or equivalent required
