Nursing Education Coordinator - Home Care is responsible for identifying training needs and planning, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of staff development programs within the home care specialty. Coordinates in-service training, continuing education, orientation, competency reviews, and other related training functions. Being a Nursing Education Coordinator - Home Care ensures compliance with all State and Federal guidelines for in-service education and new employee orientation. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Nursing Education Coordinator - Home Care requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Nursing Education Coordinator - Home Care work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Maryville is located in Beaverton on the tree-lined, 43-acre campus of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon. It is highly rated, well-staffed, and freshly updated to provide an environment of peace and healing for those who need round-the-clock care.

    The Activities Coordinator is responsible for implementing an effective resident activities program for the Henry Kuckenberg Memory Care Center located within the Nursing Home. This is a 20-bed ICF Memory Care unit. Aspects of the activity program includes creating a well-rounded and person focused activities program that provides a variety of opportunities for meaningful participation by residents of all ages, interests and physical abilities.

    The successful candidate will have experience working in long-term care or dementia care, be creative, self-driven, and open to continually learning new approaches to providing meaningful activities to individuals living with memory loss. The Activities Coordinator will work closely with the care team, and resident’s families with the goal of providing.
     
    Other requirements include:
    • Experience working in a memory care setting. Nursing Home experience is a plus.
    • Experience creating and successfully implementing an activities program for elders. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • The ability to organize/prioritize work, manage multiple tasks and projects, and function effectively as a self-directed leader of multiple initiatives.
    • The ability to communicate respectfully and empathetically with residents, their family members, and staff at every level of the organization.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
    • Certification or degree related to health and wellness or life enrichment is a plus
    • Demonstrated success at leading and building effective, cohesive teams is also a plus.
