    DEFINITION:

    Under the oversight of the Executive Director and general supervision of the Operations Director. The FCCHEN Manager is part of the administrative team, with oversight and coordination of the Family Child Care Home Education Network. Position responsibilities include supervision of FCCHEN Specialists, comprehensive case management such as family/educator enrollment, linkage to community resources, monitoring, and educational guidance.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Assist in the dissemination of information through flyers, bulletins, newsletter, and e-mails.
    • Recruit and contract licensed FCC Educators.
    • Ensure that family child care homes comply with relevant licensing and accreditation requirements, advocating for and promoting high-quality standards.
    • Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the quality of education within family child care homes, offering feedback and guidance for improvement.
    • Manage educational resources, including materials, books, and tools, ensuring caregivers have access to necessary supplies.
    • Facilitate networking opportunities for Educators within the network, encouraging collaboration and the sharing of best practices.
    • Establish and maintain an Educator Advisory Council
    • Stay informed about the latest developments in early childhood education, providing professional development opportunities for caregivers to enhance their skills.
    • Respond to FCC Educators inquiries for assistance in matters related to professional development.
    • Organize, develop, coordinate, and provide training for FCC Educators.
    • Share information on, provides training in, and promotes the use of technology with FCC Educators.
    • Monitor for FCC Educators continuous program improvement, accountability, and the identification of needed resources.
    • Maintain appropriate records for case reporting and client tracking that ensures accurate, complete, and current files.
    • Complete intake enrollment procedures with incoming families.
    • Compile statistical information on case load as needed for program reporting and evaluation.
    • Respond to parent inquiries for assistance in matters related to enrollment and community resources.
    • Document and follow-up on Educator needs, questions, complaints, and concerns.
    • Advocate and collaborate with community agencies to support Educators, child, family, and agency outcomes.
    • Assist in opening/closing the administrative office as needed.
    • Assist in answering all incoming phone calls and taking messages as needed.
    • Perform general support asked of all staff and any other duties as assigned by administration.

    Staff Relations

    • Maintain open and respectful communication with all agency staff.
    • Serve on a team of other administrative staff, teachers, assistants, and volunteers.
    • Reflect on professional development practice, program goals, and initiatives, individually and with colleagues.
    • Work well with a variety of staff, including teachers, support staff, supervisors, and other enrollment staff.
    • Join in activities that support the ECE community, including staff meetings, conferences, and training.
    • Maintain confidentiality of FCC Educators, and staff involved in the program.
    • Create a physical and interpersonal climate that is conducive to learning by drawing on adult learning theory, knowledge of community cultures, and interpersonal dynamics.
    • Demonstrate flexibility in meeting unexpected circumstances.
    • Analyze and report data in a valid and non-biased fashion.
    • Facilitate learning through classroom observation/support, distance learning experiences, workforce development, out of classroom activities, mentoring/training of Educators.

    Family Relations

    • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding families enrolled at the center.
    • Assess family goals and provide recommendation and referral for relevant community resources.
    • Prepare and distribute follow-up information requested by the family in a timely manner.
    • Work flexible hours to meet the needs of FCC Educators and families, may include some weekends and evening hours.

    NOTE: Essential Job Functions may be both on and off-site locations, days and/or evenings and/or weekends.

    MINIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    · Bilingual/Bi-literate ability in English/Spanish

    · AA degree in Human Development, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field.

    · Keyboarding skills (40 words a minute), computer literacy, and proficiency with various applications such as MS Office, e-mail, and internet.

    · In good health and free of active Tuberculosis.

    · Must provide completed Health Screening Report, Immunizations, and Department of Justice clearance prior to employment.

    · Knowledge of early childhood education, family childcare settings, and community resources.

    · Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.

    REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

    • Demonstrate effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with others.
    • Experience working with a diverse and multicultural population; understanding of problems of varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
    • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds repeatedly, assume postures in low levels to allow physical/visual contact with children and engage in physical activity with children.
    • Able to reach a child 20-30 feet away in 30 seconds without danger to the staff person's health.
    • Skills and willingness to deal with sensitive family situations in a non-threatening and professional manner.
    • Ability to communicate well with adults and children of diverse academic, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds, including people with disabilities.
    • Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries with families, Educators, and co-workers.
    • Must be able to work independently without intensive supervision.
    • Must be able to balance and prioritize workload and have strong time management skills.
