Nursing Director - Nursing Home administers the nursing program in a nursing home in order to maintain standards of patient care. Advises management, patient care staff and administrators in matters related to nursing service. Being a Nursing Director - Nursing Home recommends establishment or revision of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Additionally, Nursing Director - Nursing Home typically requires an advanced degree of nursing. Typically reports to top management or a facility administrator. Requires RN license. The Nursing Director - Nursing Home typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Nursing Director - Nursing Home typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. - Oversee and manage all aspects of nursing operations within the facility
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure high-quality care
- Supervise and lead a team of nurses, providing guidance and support
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care and ensure smooth operations
- Create and implement care plans for patients, ensuring their individual needs are met
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of nursing staff, providing feedback and training as needed
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Stay up-to-date with medical advancements, regulations, and best practices in nursing```Qualifications```
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred
- Current state nursing license
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and care plans
- Experience working in a nursing home or assisted living facility is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and shift management responsibilities
