Position Overview:
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is a pivotal role within our home care setting, responsible for overseeing nursing operations to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care. Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing (DON), the ADON will play a key role in supervising and coordinating nursing services, ensuring compliance with regulations, fostering a positive work environment, and facilitating effective communication among staff and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Oversight:
· Supervise and coordinate nursing services provided to clients in their homes.
· Develop individualized care plans and ensure their effective implementation.
· Monitor and evaluate the performance of field nurses to maintain quality care standards.
· Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize client care.
· Provide oversight for VIP client care.
Monitoring and Documentation:
· Regularly monitor client's level of care and maintain accurate documentation.
Regulatory Compliance:
· Stay informed about and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
· Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
Field Staff Supervision:
· Train and supervise field nurses and CNAs.
· Ensure proficiency in relevant technologies and documentation.
· Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
Client Satisfaction:
· Engage in client satisfaction activities and initiatives.
Education and Training:
· Contribute as a specialist instructor.
· Collaborate on in-service topics and participate in office events and trainings.
Communication:
· Serve as a liaison between staff, healthcare professionals, and administration.
· Effectively communicate with patients and families.
· Provide updates to office staff and advocate for clients' rights and preferences.
Urgent and Emergency Response:
· Respond to urgent clinical situations and provide directions.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

Qualifications:
· Board Certified Registered Nurse
· Current and valid nursing license in MD or Compact
· Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in home care
· Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing home care nursing services
· Strong clinical background
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong leadership and management abilities
· Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills
