Nursing Director administers the nursing program in a hospital, nursing home, or other medical facility to maintain standards of patient care. Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service. Being a Nursing Director recommends establishment or revision of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Additionally, Nursing Director requires an advanced degree of nursing. Typically reports to top management. SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Director of Nursing will report to the Senior Director to provide strategic vision and operational oversight of all nursing services. The Director will ensure strict compliance and provision of safe and high-quality care that is representative of Citizen Advocates’ mission. The Director serves professionally as a liaison and servant leader for all nursing teams within Citizen Advocates’ while maintaining poise and composure in complex situations. The Director will demonstrate effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, communicating appropriately and effectively. The Director oversees all nursing activities, ensuring policies and procedures are in place to provide quality care. The Director drives the development and execution of short-and long-term strategic plans through continuous collaboration with senior leadership. The Director will have oversight of current and future nursing services that further the competitive position of the organization while ensuring strict compliance with OPWDD, OMH and OASAS policy and procedure.

Required Education and Experience
1. Registered Nurse degree with a valid New York State RN license
2. Continuing professional education required
3. Minimum of 5 years' experience in specialized field preferred
4. Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred
