Nursing Director administers the nursing program in a hospital, nursing home, or other medical facility to maintain standards of patient care. Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service. Being a Nursing Director recommends establishment or revision of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Additionally, Nursing Director requires an advanced degree of nursing. Typically reports to top management. Requires RN license. The Nursing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Nursing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The Director of Nursing (DON) plans, directs, organizes, and evaluates nursing services to meet the total needs of our residents, and ensures an efficient health facility operation in cooperation with other departments and in compliance with state and federal regulations. Additional responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

    Directing, overseeing, and evaluating all nursing personnel (RNs, LVN/LPNs, C.N.A.s, etc.)

    Establishing objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department

    Organizing and coordinating admission, nursing, and patient care procedures

    Developing and enforcing policies for legal compliance and high-quality standards

    ** Annual Salary: $135,000 - $157,000 (Depending On Experience) ** $5,000 Sign-on Bonus

    To be successful in the role, you would have:
    Current/prior experience as a DON or ADON

    Skilled Nursing experience preferred

    Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing; Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration is a plus

    Valid RN license and CPR certification

    In-depth knowledge of hospital procedures and KPI/KQIs of patient care

    Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare best practices and legal regulations

    Ability to lead and develop personnel

    Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
