Nursing Director administers the nursing program in a hospital, nursing home, or other medical facility to maintain standards of patient care. Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service. Being a Nursing Director recommends establishment or revision of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Additionally, Nursing Director requires an advanced degree of nursing. Typically reports to top management. Requires RN license. The Nursing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Nursing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     St. Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is looking for ADON - Assistant Director of Nursing to join their amazing team.

     Job Responsibilities;


    • Assist the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services Department

    • Assist in developing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care

    • Plan, develop, direct, evaluate and coordinate staff development educational programs to include new hire orientation, staff in-services and on-the-job training

    • Plan, develop, coordinate and direct the Infection Control Program

    • Provide staffing coverage as requested to maintain appropriate staff ratios

    • Share “on call” responsibility with DNS and other nurse managers



    Requirements

     

    •  Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing

    •  Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse license from the State of New Hampshire and be in good standing with the NH Board of Nursing

    •  Must have at least two years’ experience as a supervisor in a healthcare facility, preferably in a long-term care setting

    •  Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures that pertain to long-term care

    •  Must be CPR/BCLS and IV certified
