Nursing Assistant assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients in dressing, undressing, bathing, eating, walking, and other activities. Being a Nursing Assistant ensures patients' well-being and comfort. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. Additionally, Nursing Assistant may serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. The Nursing Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. In this entry level role, you would be providing hands on resident care, completes assignments as assigned and assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the residents of our care center/community. You would be collaborating with other team-oriented care providers to love and serve our residents in their time of need.

In this job, every day you will…
1. Provide resident care under the direction of the Charge Nurse (and other nursing leadership), to include assisting with personal care, assisting residents in the dining room, assisting in the delivery of trays to resident rooms while ensuring that all services are delivered with dignity and promoting resident rights.
2. Assist with ADL’s, using Cooperative Service Plans and Acuity of Daily Living Flow Sheets as a guide, and accurately documents care provided on flow sheets.
3. Perform assigned restorative procedures including range of motion, assisting resident in self-care or bowel and bladder programs, and transporting residents to dining room and activities.
4. Regularly observes the resident’s physical and mental condition, reporting changes in resident to charge nurse and/or director of nursing.
5. Take and evaluate vital signs, responds to assistance pages promptly and perform emergency first-aid and CPR only if certified under these programs.
6. Participate in the building safety program, follows facility fire safety program and follows the building infection control practices, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or equipment, and incidents and accidents.
7. Assist with resident laundry, and dining room and kitchen clean up and maintenance as assigned and general building cleaning tasks.
