Nurse Supervisor - Phone Triage supervises the day-to-day operations and coordinates activities of nursing teams in a nurse triage call center. Plans work schedules and monitors call levels to ensure sufficient staffing and adherence to protocols. Being a Nurse Supervisor - Phone Triage responds to escalated problems and may provide patient care evaluations and guidance to nurses. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Nurse Supervisor - Phone Triage requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Nurse Supervisor - Phone Triage supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments.     Sample of Duties:

    • Review daily provider-patient schedule with Clinical Coordinator and clinical team to prioritize triage to plan for an efficient flow of patient care.
    • Triage daily patient phone calls in order of priority to ensure acute care needs are addressed by an appropriate health care professional in a timely manner.
    • Perform medication prior authorizations.
    • Assist patients in scheduling preventative services.
    • Assist with patient education as needed.
    • Assist in contacting patients with abnormal lab/test results and schedule follow-up as ordered by the providers when requested.
    • Assist clinical staff as needed to avoid interruption of delivery of services to patients.
    • Counsel patients regarding lab tests, medications, procedures, etc. as requested by physicians.
    • Schedule referrals and appointments for specialized testing and procedures as requested.
    • Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards.

    Position Requirements:

    • A valid and current State of Florida license to Practical Nurse (LPN)
    • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to record information accurately
    • Ability to handle all calls in a professional and compassionate manner
    • One year of clinical office experience or a combination of medical education and work experience
    • CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
