Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health works in collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to provide medical care and treatment in women's clinic setting. Provides care to women from adolescence through menopause, with a focus on reproduction and gynecology. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health assesses patient condition and may provide treatment using specialized medical equipment. Works in outpatient settings, responding to high patient volumes in short-term spans and dealing with unpredictable situations and issues. Follows established guidelines and protocols. Requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Prescribe medications, therapies; order/perform and interpret diagnostic testing and procedures
Provide pre and post-natal care, family planning services, and patient education and counseling
Assist and work closely with physicians to provide patient care
National Nurse Practitioner certification or ability to obtain
Unrestricted, active licensure in the State or ability to obtain
Current Unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain
CPR, BLS, and NALS Certification or ability to obtain
Proficient in assessment and development of treatment plans
Ability to communicate with patients, team members and management staff
Ability to make care decisions based on the best medical practices without direct supervision or guidance by a physician
One year of full-time experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred
