Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health works in collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to provide medical care and treatment in women's clinic setting. Provides care to women from adolescence through menopause, with a focus on reproduction and gynecology. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health assesses patient condition and may provide treatment using specialized medical equipment. Works in outpatient settings, responding to high patient volumes in short-term spans and dealing with unpredictable situations and issues. Follows established guidelines and protocols. Requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision and direction of the collaborating physician, the nurse practitioner provides high quality, efficient and cost effective patient care in accordance with the State of Indiana Rules and Regulations as defined in the Nurse Practitioner Scope of Practice Act. Functions as an extension of the physician in diagnosing and treating patient conditions by performing tasks or combination of tasks traditionally performed by the physician. Uses protocols and clinical judgment to carry out duties. The Nurse Practitioner is expected to project a positive image and service excellence of the organization to the patient.
