Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health works in collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to provide medical care and treatment in women's clinic setting. Provides care to women from adolescence through menopause, with a focus on reproduction and gynecology. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health assesses patient condition and may provide treatment using specialized medical equipment. Works in outpatient settings, responding to high patient volumes in short-term spans and dealing with unpredictable situations and issues. Follows established guidelines and protocols. Requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.     Responsibilities

    • Assess acute, non-acute, and chronic clinical and psychological diagnosis.
    • Perform new patient intake/screenings to include medical history, physical examination, laboratory, and diagnostic studies.
    • Implement treatment plans and education for chronic conditions.
    • Collaborate with physicians regarding patient management.
    • Develop and/or conduct in-service education programs for other health care professionals.
    • Provides counseling to patients and their families regarding illness prevention and health maintenance.
    • Performs other duties as assigned. 

    Qualifications

    Who May Apply: US Citizens

     

    Degree: A graduate or higher level degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program in Family Nurse Practitioner is required. 

     

    Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse in the specialty of Obstetrics/Gynecology or related specialty from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
