    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Supervisor: Yes

    POSITION PURPOSE:

    Position available is full time or part time. If you are interested in PRN, please also apply. We require one year NP experience, minimum, to apply. Clinic hours are generally 9am to 6:30pm, Monday through Friday. We close at 3:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays. As NP, you will provide diagnosis, treatment, consultation and follow up care of patients under the indirect supervision of a physician.

    REQUIRED ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    1. Provides general medical care and treatment to patients in clinic.
    2. Completes physical exam and records the health history of patients, as necessary. Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.
    3. Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physician.
    4. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
    5. Discusses case with physician to prepare comprehensive patient care plan, per collaborative agreement, as needed.
    6. Writes prescription and order for medical tests.
    7. Communicates with members of the medical staff on issues concerning consultation, collaboration and referrals.
    8. Maintains accurate and legible medical records, while documenting all medical evaluations, diagnosis, procedures, treatment, prognosis, referrals, education and consultations that are consistent with state regulatory standards.

    9. Follows-up with patients on results of tests.
    10. Is responsible for environmental control and sanitation oversight, i.e. clean toilets, floors, carpets, tables, empty trash, clean sink, waiting area etc.
    11. Performs and/or delegates to Medical Assistant duties as needed.
    12. Educates and provides professional development of Medical Assistants as needed.

    13. Ability to work some weekends.
    14. Perform various other duties as assigned.

    Special Projects:

    1. Interview potential Medical Assistant candidates.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    Education Requirements

    • Master’s degree (MSN) and certification by one of the Nurse Practitioner certifying bodies (ANCC or

    AANP as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), is required

    • Required licenses, certifications or registrations – Registered Nurse, Family Medicine Nurse

    Practitioner, American Association of Nurse Practitioners or American Nurses Credentialing Center ,
    Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Drug
    Enforcement Administration, Controlled Substances Registration, Prescriptive authority

    • Prefer between 3 and 6 months of experience
    • Communication skills necessary for the success of the practice.

    Office Equipment: Phone, laptop, copier, calculator, Electronic Medical Record software, medical equipment – blood pressure cuff, otoscope, ophthalmoscope, EKG machine and all vital sign equipment(s)

    Work Procedures/Manuals – Medical guidelines, textbook references.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or Boards of Directors.

    MATH SKILLS:
    Ability to calculate dosing for medication, figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY:
    Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

    JOB COMPLEXITY:

    Work requires a very high level of judgment, exceptional analytic ability and creativity in investigating major problems that require original and highly innovative solutions.
