UT Regional One Physicians is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in our Surgical Oncology Services Department.
JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Participates as a member of the surgical oncology health care team to meet patient needs and provide continuity of care. Under the administrative and technical supervision of a surgeon, performs medical services in the care and treatment of surgical oncology patients by obtaining and documenting patient medical histories and physical examinations, applying diagnostics techniques, ordering tests, evaluate medical conditions, develop treatment plans and assist in surgical oncology procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Performs core PA / NP responsibilities
Assists in the outpatient clinic and responsibilities will include seeing patients independently with appropriate supervision.
Assists with daily hospital rounding as directed by supervising surgeon
Acts as liaison with hospital staff
Function as first or second assistant in surgical oncology procedures
Performs preoperative duties including assisting in collating data such as laboratory reports and radiological reports
Performs preoperative and postoperative examination of the patient
Evaluates and clarifies evolving clinical conditions
Formulates and implements treatment and therapeutic plans for hospitalized patients as directed
Handles discharge planning, completes and dictates discharge summaries as needed
Participates in the educational activities for medical students and surgery residents in the OR and in the clinic setting
Submits cases for multidisciplinary tumor conferences
