Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for a Nurse Practitioner PMHNP Position in our Outpatient Medication Management Clinic.

    A Nurse Practitioner serves as an advanced practice nurse in the area of psychiatric mental health nursing serving the Grand Rapids, and broader Michigan community. Functions include providing psychiatric evaluations and medication management for outpatient clients, as defines by Outpatient Clinic protocol. Prescriptive authority is accomplished through collaboration with a psychiatrist.This position actively supports, promotes and works to fulfill the Mission, Vision and Values of Forest View Hospital using our Service Excellence program. 

     

    Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assess, plans, and delivers care for patients with all psychiatric disorders. 
    • Provides short term and ongoing medication management to Outpatient clients.
    • Provides education as needed for patients, families, and significant others about psychiatric medication, psychiatric conditions and care giver interventions.
    • Provides crisis intervention as needed and brief telephone assessments for adverse events and patient's clinical concerns.

    Qualifications

     

    • Must be an RN, licensed to practice in the State of Michigan. Work requires advanced practice nursing knowledge with a Masters in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing. Holds a Nurse Practitioner Specialty License by the Michigan Department of Commerce and Industry.
    • Must meet and maintain credentialing requirements and maintain membership to Forest View Hospital's Medical Staff.
