Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric works in collaboration with physicians to manage care for patients in a psychiatric setting. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Provides primary care to psychiatry and at-risk patients. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat mental health and emotional disorders in patients.
- Prescribe and monitor medications as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient visits and progress.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the patient and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions.
- Participate in community outreach and education efforts.

- Respond promptly to agency requests and communicate effectively with the treatment team.
- Keep patient files confidential and up to date.
- Deliver services professionally to uphold the reputation of the counseling center.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Master's degree in nursing with a specialization in psychiatric nursing.
- Valid state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- 2 years of clinical experience in a mental health setting preferred.
- Knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment methods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Credentialing with insurance panels required.
