Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric jobs in Jackson, TN
Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric works in collaboration with physicians to manage care for patients in a psychiatric setting. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Provides primary care to psychiatry and at-risk patients. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The Candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive health care management and psychiatric nursing services. The right candidate will be board certified in psychiatry, be able to effectively make clinical decisions, and demonstrate an ability to relate with patients and an interest in working as part of a team. Credentialed with major networks preferred. Must be able to work Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations.
- Prescribe medications for patients suffering from mental illness and substance abuse.
- Understand psychiatric disorders, including substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.
- Serve as a consultant within the psychiatric health care team.
