Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric works in collaboration with physicians to manage care for patients in a pediatric setting. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Overview:
The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will provide quality health care and treatment to pediatric patients
Health care includes:health promotions; prevention of disease and disability; identification of health problems; management of health problems; and referral with communication to the patient's primary care provider.
The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will practice medicine within the scope of their licensure and if applicable, under the Supervision of a Physician.
Minimum Requirements:
-Graduation from a NLN accredited Nurse Practitioner program, MSN preferred.- Certification by an approved organization according to the Maine State Board of Nursing.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant's program.
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Current Maine State Licensure.
- Requires current CPR and ACLS.
